Spending Quality Time With The Baby
Babies learn what they live. If your home is one that reflects love and happiness, the babies will pick up on those emotions. Begin today to make time in your busy day to spend quality time with your babies. Taking care to make sure their diapers are fresh, clothing clean, bathing them and feeding them, is not the only important part of taking care of a baby. We must spend time and show personal attention to our baby. Talk to them, teach them simple words and mannerisms, such as "how to wave goodbye". Babies learn from us as they watch us go about our lives. They try to copy words we are saying, by first learning the different sounds of speaking.
There is something contagious when you hear a baby laugh and giggle. It is amazing what those little ones will laugh at. Simple things like tearing paper, or making funny faces or sounds, will make our babies laugh and giggle. Sometimes certain toys, with lights and funny talking will make them happy. Even giving a baby a pot, pan, large spoon and bowls with lids will keep the baby entertained for hours.
Babies all learn things differently and some babies learn things faster than others. Those babies that have parents spending quality time with them, teaching them, playing with them, loving and showing affection, will learn faster and be a more content baby.
In this busy world with both parents working, those babies in day care centers learn quickly from other babies, so working parents do not have to worry if their working will harm a baby, because it doesn't. Whether the baby is kept at home their first year or in day care, both environments can be a warm inviting place that will make the baby feel comfortable. Both home or daycare provides learning for a baby, just differently that's all.
Taking time from our daily schedule to focus on the baby will build an incredible bond between you and baby. Those bonds are important because trust, loving, and being safe is important for a babies welfare. Neglected babies often cry a lot, are unhappy no matter how hard you try to make them happy, nothing you can do will help calm them.
Crying is a natural thing for a baby, but the kind of crying, the tone in the cry can make a difference in what is making the baby uncomfortable. The tone and depth of the cry may be an indicator that the baby is hurting or getting sick, and baby has no other way to tell us than crying, so they cry.
If you want to see your baby smiling, laughing and giggling, then spend more time with the baby. Learn the difference in the babies cries and pay more attention to them. Spending quality time with your baby is an imperative part of being a good parent.
