Neglecting Your Car Or Truck Is Like Riding In A Garbage Truck!

OMG! We have a flat tire!
In the years past, individuals could pull into a gas station. Fancy uniformed station workers would come running, pump the gas, wash your windows, check your oil and tire air pressure for you. Today, most stations only have gas pumps and you do everything yourself.
Unless regular review, checkup and maintenance on our automobiles is done, you can be assured of vehicle breakdown when you least expect it. The average individual knows nothing of car repair or maintenance. It would be an excellent thing for maintenance classes to be taken by all new drivers before being given their drivers licenses. The earlier we teach auto maintenance skills, the more lives that can be saved. The autos will last longer and give us more driving pleasure.
Nothing is more aggravating than to be traveling along the highway, in the middle of nowhere and suddenly you feel a thump, bump and realize you have a flat tire. If you don't prepare ahead and have a good spare, you might find that you will sit there, along side the road for awhile until you can get help. With cell phones the wait is shorter, but there still is the frustrating wait for the help to arrive. By performing a once a week visual inspection, problems with your tires can be headed off and stopped in most cases.
The wear on the tires is a good indicator of other problems with the auto such as front end alignment. Learning how to read the wear to look for warning signs will prolong the tire life, but also is a safety factor. Make sure the air pressure is correct by using an air pressure gauge.
Visibility is another major issue and all glass windows and mirrors need to be kept clean and washed regularly. Windows with dark non-see thru material is not recommended because of safety issues.
The engine of the auto will not run properly without clean oil. The oil should be replaced regularly as well as the oil filter. Another filter that should be changed periodically is the gas filter. And a wise tip: never allow your car to run completely out of gas. Sometimes the bottom of the gas tank will hold debris and if the debris clogs up the gas air filter, the auto will not stay cranked.
Another area that is rarely discussed is cleanliness outside and on the inside. By regularly getting your auto detailed it will eliminate small ants, bugs and other creatures from venturing in to look for food crumbs or drinks. Of course, no one likes to ride in a garbage truck either. Cleanliness is good health protection for you and the family.
The above tips can save you and family from expensive repair bills, inconveniences and health issues. Just a little time spent on an auto check up will eliminate high maintenance costs. Ride Safer, knowing you have done everything you can to protect you and your family.
